Reiki

The word Reiki comes from the Japanese word (Rei) which means "Universal Life" and (Ki) which means "Energy". Reiki is a Japanese stress reduction and relaxation practice and helps to strengthen our bodies for self-healing. Universal Life does not mean Reiki is a religion. You are not required to believe in anything specific to learn Reiki or have it work on you.

Based on the idea that our health is interconnected with the energy flowing through and around us, energy affects the physical organs and cells. When the flow of energy is blocked or disrupted, it can adversely affect the body causing illness, both physically and emotionally. All organs are connected through the system and therefore energy responds to a person's thoughts or feelings. Positive thoughts help the energy flow freely through the body and promotes healthy living. Negative thoughts result in a poor or disrupted flow of energy and contribute to decreased health. Reiki can relieve pain, stress, anxiety and many other chronic health conditions.

Western medicine is starting to recognize the mind, body connection and it's importance to our health. Hospitals, cancer clinics, rehabilitation clinics are just a few that are using Reiki to improve patient health and recovery.
